Giant Dinosaur Eggs Designed by Cambridge Schools

Giant Dinosaur Eggs Designed by Cambridge Schools

Children from six local schools – Impington Village College, North Cambridge Academy, Sancton Wood, St Mary’s School, The Leys, and Trumpington Community College – have accepted our challenge: designing a giant dinosaur egg! Their cracking designs are now nesting in the Sedgwick Museum, opposite Grand Arcade.

Children from six local schools – Impington Village College, North Cambridge Academy, Sancton Wood, St Mary’s School, The Leys, and Trumpington Community College – have created cracking designs for the ancient eggs.

Thanks to everyone who visited Grand Arcade in April and voted for their favourite’s egg. All very different, the imaginative creations showcased a wide range of talent from Cambridge’s youngest generation.

Though competition was fiercer than a hungry Allosaurus, the winners were St Mary’s School, Cambridge, who have been awarded a £250 gift card from Grand Arcade and £100 worth of products from John Lewis & Partners. Congratulations to all the brilliant students who took part in the competition!

Although our fabulous Easter Jurassic Arcade event has come to an end – with the ferocious dinosaurs returned to egg-stinction – you can hold onto the prehistoric spirit, by journeying across the road to Sedgwick Museum. There, you’ll be able to admire the ancient eggs designed by local schoolchildren, which will be nested in pairs.

If you’re lucky, you might even see one hatch? What a cracking treat that would be!

Sedgwick Museum – Open Monday-Saturday. Free Entry.
